New Group at Sowing Seeds Tuition at our Thackley site!
At Sowing Seeds Tuition, we are introducing a new dyslexia-specialist small-group programme for Year 9–10 learners, designed to support young people as academic demands increase and preparation for GCSEs begins.
This supportive and practical group focuses on helping learners develop revision strategies, executive functioning skills and study routines that reduce overwhelm and build confidence. We recognise that many young people with dyslexia or literacy difficulties can find secondary school increasingly challenging as expectations around organisation, independent learning, memory and written work grow. Some learners may already have a dyslexia diagnosis, whilst others may simply recognise traits or difficulties that impact learning and self-esteem.
Our aim is to create a calm, encouraging environment where learners feel understood, capable and supported to succeed in ways that work for them.
What we focus on
The programme combines dyslexia-informed literacy support with practical study and revision strategies tailored for neurodivergent learners. Sessions focus on:
- Revision skills that work for dyslexic learners — retrieval practice, dual coding, memory techniques, visual revision methods and reducing cognitive overload.
• Executive functioning support — organisation, planning, time management, prioritising tasks, breaking down homework and revision into manageable steps.
• Study skills that stick — note-making, proofreading, structuring longer answers and developing independent learning routines.
• Assistive technology and strategies — text-to-speech, speech-to-text, revision apps and dyslexia-friendly approaches to learning.
• Confidence and self-advocacy — understanding how they learn best, communicating needs and developing resilience around learning challenges.
How the group feels
