Inspired Builds: 7-Week Construction Skills Programme at Sowing Seeds Wellbeing CIC!
At Sowing Seeds Wellbeing CIC, we are proud to introduce our new programme at our Thackley site called Inspired Builds in partnership with Jordan, Director of Three Sixty Facility Management delivering a hands-on, progressive 7-week construction skills programme designed to build confidence, practical ability, and a sense of achievement in young people.
Created as either a standalone course or as part of our ASDAN Construction Short Course with a learning mentor on site to support, this programme offers a structured learning journey where each week builds on the last. Rather than standalone sessions, learners follow a clear pathway, developing skills step by step and gaining confidence as they progress.
Set within our supportive, wellbeing-focused environment, sessions are designed to be engaging, accessible, and purposeful — helping learners feel capable, included, and proud of what they can achieve.
With personalised support, there is limited space with a maximum of 9 learners per course so booking is essential.
A Structured Journey of Skill Development
Across the 7-week block, learners are introduced to a range of practical construction skills, with each session increasing in complexity:
- Week 1 – Basic Tool Skills
Safe and confident use of essential tools - Week 2 – Basic Plumbing
Understanding simple systems and connections - Week 3 – Basic Electrics
Introduction to circuits and safe electrical work - Week 4 – Basic Bricklaying
Foundations of structure, alignment, and technique - Week 5 – Basic Plastering
Surface preparation and finishing skills - Week 6 – Measuring and Cutting
Accuracy, planning, and material handling - Week 7 – Advanced Electrics
Building on prior knowledge to complete more complex tasks
This progressive approach allows learners to consolidate their understanding, practise skills, and see their own development over time.
Learn by Doing
Every session follows a consistent, supportive structure:
- Demonstration – Clear modelling of skills and techniques
- Hands-On Task – Guided practical application
- Challenge – Opportunity to extend learning, solve problems, and build independence
This format ensures that all learners can access the session at their own level while also being encouraged to stretch themselves.
Delivered by Industry Expertise
The programme is delivered by Jordan, Director of Three Sixty Facility Management, bringing real-world industry knowledge and experience into every session. Jordan’s practical expertise ensures learners are introduced to authentic skills, tools, and techniques, helping them connect their learning to real-life applications and future pathways.
