Sowing Seeds Socials
🐹 Welcome to the Family, Ryder & Teddy! 🐹
We’re absolutely delighted to welcome our two newest recruits, Ryder and Teddy, to the Sowing Seeds Wellbeing family! 💚 At the weekend our directors, Rachel and Laura, along with their families, all came together for a very special occasion to meet our adorable new guinea pigs and we were all eager to say hello. Safe to say, it was love at first squeak!
Ryder and Teddy will play an important role in our small animal therapy sessions, helping to promote calm, confidence, communication, and emotional wellbeing. Interacting with gentle animals like guinea pigs can be incredibly grounding and therapeutic, supporting mental health, social skills, and self-esteem for people of all ages.
Alongside our animal therapy, we’re proud to offer ASDAN courses, giving learners the opportunity to build life skills, confidence, and recognised qualifications. These can also be completed in Animal Care 🐾. It’s a wonderful way to combine learning with hands-on, meaningful experiences with animals like Ryder and Teddy.
Interested in small animal therapy sessions or ASDAN Animal Care courses? We’d love to hear from you!
Get in touch, 📩 Message us today, email hello@sowingseedssensory.co.uk or call 07753326202 to find out how you or someone you support can get involved.
Come and meet Ryder and Teddy - they’re already stealing hearts! 💕

We’re Still Here – Just Not in the Building Yet! 🏗️✨
Although we’ve hit a slight delay, we’re still working hard behind the scenes to bring our vision to life. In November, we’ll be getting stuck into transforming the premises from a Car Garage and MOT Station into a welcoming Wellbeing, Training, and Sensory Centre.
We’re so excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to share the journey with you. Thanks for your patience and support – it means the world! 💛

🌻🌞 Good Morning 🌻🌞
Did you know balancing the senses in the morning is all about helping your nervous system regulate so your brain and body are ready for the day.
When we wake up, our sensory systems - visual, auditory, vestibular, proprioceptive, tactile, and interoceptive - need stimulation in the right amounts to reach an optimal state of alert calmness.
This is especially helpful for people who struggle with sensory processing, ADHD, anxiety, or trouble focusing.
Here is a few helpful ideas on how to help balance the senses ... 🧘♂️🧘♀️

Lets talk Sensory Play ...💧🚨🏮🚦
Did you know Sensory play is a fantastic way to engage children and help develop their fine motor skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities but it also sensory play is especially valuable for children and adults with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), including conditions such as autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder (SPD), Down syndrome, developmental delays, and learning difficulties.
It provides structured opportunities to explore, regulate, and learn through the senses, helping improve emotional, cognitive, social, and physical development.
Over the course of this week, we will look how different types of sensory play benefit those with SEND - ideas for some home and easy to do Sensory Play and a look at how individuals with Dementia can also benefit. ❤️🩷💛💙🧩

🐾 The Magic of Small Animal Therapy 🐾
Spending time with a furry friend isn’t just heartwarming, it can actually help us feel better inside and out. Whether it’s a rabbit’s snuggle, a dog’s wagging tail, or a cat’s purr, small animals have a way of making us feel calm, safe, and connected.
Animal therapy can lift moods, ease anxiety, and help people open up, especially those who struggle with social situations or feel overwhelmed.
And for those looking to take their passion further, we also offer the chance to work towards ASDAN accreditation in Animal Care - a great opportunity to build skills and confidence in a hands-on, supported setting.
Sometimes, the smallest paws make the biggest difference. 🐶🐰🐦

For loved ones with dementia, small moments can mean everything. Sensory therapy helps ease anxiety, spark conversation, and awaken cherished memories—all through simple, familiar experiences.
A favorite song, a soothing scent, or the feel of something familiar can create powerful connections, bringing joy, calm, and comfort.
Currently, approximately 6,000 individuals in Bradford are living with dementia. At Sowing Seeds Sensory, we are creating a safe space for individuals and their families, a place where connection, care, and wellbeing come first.
